"Meels" Returns Home: Mill Valley Roots, NYU Journey, and a New Album
Backstage at the Mill Valley Music Festival, Only in the Green Room interviews Mill Valley-raised artist. "Meels" after her Sweetwater stage set, discussing her local upbringing and current life in Pasadena living with her 86-year-old grandmother - after five years in New York and attending NYU’s Clive Davis Institute. Meels describes finding an Americana scene in Los Angeles, her rotating but core band lineup, and recent performance growth. She talks about her independent debut album Tales From a Bird’s Bedroom recorded in Nashville and its nature-field-recording concept, and previews her recently released second album, Across the Raccoon Straight - recorded live to tape at Tiny Telephone in Oakland with Nashville producers.
